Guest Colleagues – Leadership and Management of SEN

Monica Conlon

I had the great pleasure of working collaboratively with Monica Conlon on our SEND Training session focusing on EHCP applications. Monica Conlon is a freelance consultant providing a range of services to schools and colleges to build their capacity to improve SEND outcomes. She undertakes full audits of SEND provision, or smaller audits looking at systems and roles. She facilitates the development of robust SEND processes and provides stand-alone staff training. Monica is also Founding Director or Impact
Education Software Ltd.
In January 2017 15 years after gaining her PGCE Monica took up post as a Local Authority SEND Officer. Her experience in both primary and secondary schools gave Monica a fuller awareness of the issues for front line staff managing the complexities of paper-led systems. Deciding to work freelance to support schools in more depth Monica was determined to look for a solution to effective provision planning. In June 2018 Impact Education Software was created. Monica had a team of people who were as
committed as she was to develop a digital solution, with a shared background in education, cyber security and government innovation projects.
January 2019 After six months of development work, the first version of SENDiT was ready and local schools agreed to be the test cohort.
Monica can be contacted at [email protected].

Incyte International

Our work on Impact and Provision Mapping put us in touch with Malcolm Greenhalgh and, later, Jan Lomas. Incyte International specialises in school and academy improvement services in the UK and abroad providing a wide range of products and consultancy services, including one of the country’s leading online academic tracking programs. Our links with Jan Lomas and Malcolm Greenhalgh at Incyte initiated the development of our venue in Hull, and the further development of the Schools’ Intelligence provision mapping systems.
